East Java DPW Backs Slamet Ariyadi for BM-PAN Chairmanship, Citing Youth Appeal
Surabaya, VIVA – The East Java Regional Leadership Council (DPW) of the Barisan Muda Penegak Amanat Nasional (BM-PAN) has expressed its full commitment and support for Slamet Ariyadi to become the General Chairperson of BM-PAN for the upcoming period.
This support was announced after the East Java DPW BM-PAN assessed Slamet Ariyadi as the figure currently needed by millennials to lead the organisation.
“BM-PAN needs new energy; it needs a leader who is grounded, connected to the people, and understands the challenges facing young people. We, the East Java DPW BM-PAN, agree to support H. Slamet Ariyadi as the General Chairperson of BM-PAN,” stated Roki Wardoyo, Chairman of the East Java DPW BM-PAN, in an official statement released on Tuesday, 7 July 2026.
According to the DPW Chairman, Slamet Ariyadi, who currently serves as the Head of the PAN Fraction in the Indonesian House of Representatives (DPR RI) for the East Java XI Madura constituency, has a proven track record of being close to the people. His simple leadership style, such as arriving at a BM-PAN debate arena via an online motorcycle taxi, serves as evidence that he maintains no distance from his constituents.
“Young people today need a figure who delivers real work, not just image-building. Mr Slamet Ariyadi has already proven that. He understands millennial issues: employment, education, MSMEs, and digitalisation. That is what we need to lead BM-PAN at this time,” he continued.
‘Bung Roki’, as he is affectionately known, also emphasised that the support for Slamet Ariyadi is a form of strengthening a single command under the leadership of PAN General Chairman Zulkifli Hasan. The objective is for BM-PAN to become the driving force in securing a top-three position for PAN in the 2029 General Election.
“With the spirit of the Barisan Muda Penegak Amanat Nasional, we are confident that under the command of Mr Slamet Ariyadi, BM-PAN will become increasingly solid, progressive, and serve as a large home for young PAN cadres across Indonesia,” he asserted.
The support from the East Java DPW BM-PAN adds to a growing list of endorsements from PAN cadres and sympathisers in the regions who desire a more dynamic leadership regeneration within BM-PAN that is closely connected to the youth.
