East Java DPRD Speaker Challenges Proof of SPPG Ownership: 'I'll Give a Reward'

East Java DPRD Speaker Musyafak Rouf has addressed the circulation of his name in connection with the corruption case surrounding the Free Nutritious Meal (MBG) programme at the National Nutrition Agency (BGN) for 2025-2026, following former BGN Deputy Head Sony Sonjaya’s decision to become a justice collaborator. The PKB politician firmly denied the allegations and challenged those spreading the rumour.

Rumours regarding Musyafak’s involvement in the BGN corruption circle spread widely on social media, with his name reportedly appearing on a list submitted by Sony. “There is none, go ahead and look. If there is even one piece of evidence that I own an SPPG (Nutritional Fulfilment Service Unit/MBG kitchen), I will give a reward,” Musyafak said when met by detikJatim in Surabaya on Wednesday (10/6/2026).

Musyafak reiterated that he has absolutely no business dealings or interests related to the BGN. He also confirmed that he holds no project documents nor manages any public kitchens for the MBG programme. “That is a hoax. I do not own any MBG operations at all. I would be filthy rich if I owned a kitchen (managing MBG). If there is any, I will give a reward,” he explained jokingly.

Furthermore, Musyafak stated that institutionally, the East Java DPRD has no interest or connection with the BGN, as all regulations and authority for the programme are fully controlled by the central government. “So, regarding the MBG issue, I know nothing at all. That is the central government’s authority. We (East Java DPRD) have never been involved nor invited to discuss the MBG,” Musyafak asserted.
