East Java DPRD Ready to Collaborate with MPR to Expand LKBB-PB Participation
Deputy Chairman of the East Java Provincial DPRD, Deni Wicaksono, is encouraging an increase in the number of participants for the Lomba Kreasi Baris Berbaris dan Pengibaran Bendera (LKBB-PB) in next year’s event. According to him, the more schools that participate, the broader the effort to instil national values, discipline, and love for the homeland in the younger generation. This was conveyed by Deni whilst closing the East Java Province LKBB-PB 2026, organised by the MPR RI in cooperation with Purna Paskibraka Indonesia (PPI) East Java Province, at the East Java Provincial DPRD Ceremonial Field on Saturday (27/6). In his speech, Deni Wicaksono appreciated the MPR RI and PPI East Java for organising the competition. He expressed hope that the LKBB-PB can continue to be held sustainably with a wider range of participants. “East Java has 38 regencies/cities. If the participants are only ten schools, that means less than 30 per cent regional representation. Next year, the East Java Provincial DPRD is ready to support and collaborate with the MPR RI so that every regency/city can send its representatives through a selection process in their respective regions,” said Deni in a written statement on Sunday (28/6/2026). He also hopes the MPR RI can continue to improve the quality of the event and provide better appreciation to the participants, making the LKBB-PB a competition eagerly anticipated by students every year. According to Deni, LKBB-PB participants represent a young generation with disciplined, resilient character, love for the homeland, and high regard for unity and integrity. “They are an optimistic, healthy, disciplined generation, able to work together, and possessing a high spirit of nationalism. Therefore, I am optimistic that they will continue the nation’s leadership relay towards a Golden Indonesia 2045,” he said. At the event, SMAN 1 Ngunut Tulungagung won first place and will represent East Java Province at the 2026 National Level LKBB-PB. Second place was won by SMAN 1 Ngawi, whilst SMAN 1 Babat Lamongan took third place. The competition was very tight. Ten participating schools displayed marching and flag-raising creations with full discipline, cohesiveness, and a spirit of nationalism. Despite having to perform under the scorching sun, all participants completed their performances well. An emotional atmosphere coloured the announcement of the winners. When the jury panel declared SMAN 1 Ngunut Tulungagung as the first champion, cheers of joy immediately broke out. Participants hugged each other, whilst one team member could not hide her gratitude, prostrating and shedding tears. Their happiness was complete upon receiving the trophy and award handed over directly by the Deputy Chairman of the East Java Provincial DPRD. The LKBB-PB is one of the national character-building programmes initiated by the MPR RI to instil the values of Pancasila, nationalism, discipline, and the spirit of unity in the younger generation. Through this activity, it is hoped that a generation will emerge that is not only academically excellent but also possesses integrity, leadership spirit, and a commitment to safeguarding the integrity of the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia.
