East Java Achieves Second Best in 2026 Investment Service Awards, Serving as a Catalyst for Improvement
The East Java Provincial Government has achieved the second-best distinction in the 2026 Investment Service Awards (Anugerah Layanan Investasi - ALI), organised by the Ministry of Investment and Downstreaming/Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM).
The award was presented based on the performance assessment of Integrated One-Stop Services and the performance of accelerating business implementation by local governments for the year 202<0xA0>6.
The award was presented by the Minister of State Apparatus Utilization and Bureaucratic Reform (PAN-RB), Rini Widyantini, to the Vice Governor of East Java, Emil Elestianto Dardak, who attended representing the Governor of East Java, Khofifah Indar Parawansa, at the Nusantara Auditorium, Ministry of Investment and Downstreaming/BKPM, Jakarta, on Wednesday (16/09/2026).
Following this achievement, Vice Governor Emil expressed his gratitude and appreciation to all departments, particularly the East Java Investment and One-Stop Integrated Services Agency (DPMPTSP) and the East Java Provincial Business Implementation Acceleration Team.
According to him, this award serves as reinforcement for the various improvements continuously implemented by the East Java Provincial Government to provide investment services that are easy, fast, transparent, and provide certainty to business actors.
“The East Java Provincial Government must not become complacent. This achievement must serve as a catalyst to continue improving service quality and creating an even more advanced and conducive investment climate,” Emil explained.
Emil stated that the assessment process serves as an evaluation instrument that helps local governments systematically improve investment services.
“It is not merely about chasing trophies and awards, but there is a systematic process that helps us assess the extent to which service improvements can encourage investment in East Java to continue growing better,” he said.
Furthermore, he explained that this achievement is the result of various continuous improvements. One of the focuses is providing a licensing process that is transparent, easily accessible, and provides a sense of security and certainty for investors.
“A transparent and easy process makes investors enthusiastic about investing, while also learning from previous experiences on how to improve further,” he revealed.
Emil explained that the East Java Provincial Government continues to strengthen the transparency and digitalisation of investment services. These various innovations are aimed at simplifying the licensing process while simultaneously increasing the trust of business actors.
Investment entering East Java is expected to provide a real impact on the community, particularly through job creation, the strengthening of regional industries, increased added value, and more equitable economic growth.
“The presence of investors must benefit the community, one way being by opening up employment opportunities for local residents,” he explained.
Amidst efforts to provide ease of service, Emil emphasised that the East Em Java Provincial Government continues to apply all regulations consistently. Every potential investor is required to meet applicable rules, including provisions regarding environmental protection and public order.
“Ease of doing business must go hand in hand with compliance with regulations. Environmental and public order regulations that must be met by investors must still be observed,” he concluded.
Meanwhile, the Minister of Investment and Downstreaming/Head of BKPM, Rosan Perkasa Roeslani, stated that the 2026 Investment Service Awards are part of an effort to build optimism and encourage local governments to continue improving the quality of services provided to business actors.
According to Rosan, investment services must become better, faster, transparent, and capable of providing certainty. This certainty is one of the main considerations for business actors when making investment decisions.
“Investment services must become better, faster, transparent, and provide certainty to business actors. Certainty is always one of the benchmarks in investing,” said Rosan.
He added that local governments play a vital role in creating a conducive investment climate. The quality of services in the regions is one of the determining factors in increasing the overall national investment climate.
“Investment services are one of the keys to improving the investment climate in Indonesia,” he explained.
Rosan hopes that the incoming investment can transition into industrial activities and open up more job opportunities. Therefore, efforts to attract investment from both domestic and foreign sources must be accompanied by a commitment to ensuring the benefits are directly felt by the community.
“Investment is one of the important instruments to expand employment opportunities. Through investment, job creation can continue to grow and proceed well,” he said.
