Jakarta (ANTARA) - The East Jakarta Vocational Training Centre (PPKD) is issuing two certificates to participants in its Mobile Training Unit (MTU) programme, aiming to improve their job market competitiveness.

“Issuing two certificates to MTU participants is a form of improving the quality of training services provided to the community,” said the Head of PPKD East Jakarta, Teguh Hendarwan, in Jakarta, Thursday.

He said that PPKD East Jakarta continues to present innovations in improving the quality of human resources. Starting in 2026, all MTU training participants will receive two certificates at once, namely a training certificate from PPKD East Jakarta and a competency certificate from the National Professional Certification Agency (BNSP).

This policy is a strategic step in strengthening the competitiveness of vocational training graduates, while also providing nationally recognised competency recognition.

With BNSP certification, Teguh hopes that participants will have added value when entering the workforce or when choosing to develop their own businesses.

Furthermore, he explained that the MTU programme is a vocational training service with a ‘door-to-door’ system that directly serves the community through various sub-districts in the East Jakarta area.

With this concept, residents do not need to come to the PPKD location to participate in training because the activities are carried out closer to the participants’ homes.

The competency test is an important instrument to ensure that participants truly master the skills in accordance with the vocational field they choose.

The awarding of BNSP competency certificates is also a follow-up to the direction of the Governor of DKI Jakarta, Pramono Anung, who wants all MTU training participants to receive competency recognition that meets national standards.

“So that it can open up wider job opportunities for vocational training graduates while also supporting the need for skilled workers in various business and industrial sectors,” said Teguh.

The implementation of the first batch of the 2026 MTU training has been completed last week. Meanwhile, the second batch of training will take place from 2 to 30 June 2026.

After the entire series of learning is completed, participants will take a competency test scheduled for 1 July 2026. For the second batch, the training is held in seven locations with seven vocational programmes, which are attended by 70 participants.

Some of the training programmes currently being held include make-up and hairstyling in the Utan Kayu Selatan sub-district, food and beverage production and the production of bread and pastries in the Malaka Sari sub-district, and basic garment sewing in the Cakung Timur sub-district.

In addition to skills-based training, PPKD East Jakarta also opens opportunities for people who want to enter the modern industrial sector through young graphic designer training at the Unit Pengelola Rumah Susun (UPRS) 1 Rusunawa Jatinegara Barat and junior office administration training in the Pondok Bambu sub-district.

Furthermore, there is also basic barista training in the Pisangan Baru sub-district, which is prepared to meet the needs of the workforce in the food and beverage industry, which continues to grow.
