East Jakarta Satpol PP officer under investigation for alleged extortion at learning centre

A member of the East Jakarta Public Order Agency (Satpol PP) accused of extorting Rp300,000 at the Rumah Belajar Merah Putih in Cilincing, North Jakarta, is still undergoing an examination at the provincial level. “The individual concerned is still being examined by the team as of today. We will just wait for the results, as this is the authority of the examining team,” said Andik Sukaryanto, Head of the Operations Section for the East Jakarta Satpol PP, in Jakarta on Wednesday. He stated that the officer, identified by the initials GS, is being examined under the escort of the Internal Action Officers (PTI) or Provost team from the East Jakarta Satpol PP. According to him, the escort is to ensure the individual does not abscond. Furthermore, the examining team is not solely from the Satpol PP’s internal division but also includes elements from the inspectorate, the personnel agency, and others. “Later, today he will be examined by the team, from the Inspectorate, the Legal Bureau, the Personnel Division, and the Mayor’s office,” Andik said. He further revealed that the location where GS allegedly committed the extortion, at the Rumah Belajar Merah Putih in RT 03/RW 04, Cilincing Urban Village, Cilincing District, North Jakarta, did not match the records of GS’s duty assignment. “The information is that he once served in North Jakarta. Actually, that is already a mistake. Moreover, when we are on duty, there is usually a duty assignment letter. He did not have a duty letter to go there, and besides, it is not his area,” Andik explained. He stated that the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government will first examine the received report before imposing sanctions. “If there is a report of extortion, we will investigate it thoroughly. If it is true that a Satpol PP member committed it, we will take the firmest possible action. There will be no discrimination in this matter,” said Pramono at City Hall, Jakarta, on Monday (13/7). As is known, a DKI Jakarta Satpol PP officer allegedly demanded Rp300,000 from the management of the Rumah Belajar Merah Putih in Cilincing Urban Village, North Jakarta. The Head of the DKI Jakarta Satpol PP, Satriadi Gunawan, said the incident occurred on 6 July 2026. At that time, the individual claiming to be a North Jakarta Satpol PP member named Givson Samosir visited the learning centre. According to Satriadi, Givson questioned the permit for learning activities at the location. Afterwards, he allegedly demanded Rp300,000. However, the learning centre’s management only gave Rp150,000.
