East Jakarta Satpol PP deploys 120 personnel for Idul Adha 1447 H holiday

The East Jakarta city government, through the Satuan Polisi Pamong Praja (Satpol PP), has deployed 120 personnel to secure the Idul Adha 1447 Hijri holiday and its accompanying public holiday.

“In connection with the Idul Adha 1447 Hijri and shared public holiday, we have deployed 120 personnel for security in the local area,” said East Jakarta Satpol PP Chief Muhammadong in Jakarta on Thursday.

The personnel were deployed to assist in securing takbir night, Eid prayers, and animal sacrifice processes across East Jakarta. Security is being conducted collaboratively with TNI and Polri to ensure all religious activities and public activities during the holiday proceed safely and smoothly.

“We are assisting in security through collaboration with TNI and Polri to ensure religious activities and others proceed smoothly and in a conducive environment,” Muhammadong explained.

According to him, the deployed Satpol PP personnel are not only stationed at the city level but also distributed down to the sub-district and village levels to ensure coverage across all areas during the extended holiday.

Additionally, Muhammadong stated that security focus will be on locations predicted to see increased public activity and crowds. Furthermore, many mosques in East Jakarta are located along major roads, potentially causing traffic congestion during Eid prayers.

In addition to maintaining order and security, Satpol PP personnel will also manage traffic around worship sites to prevent congestion and disruptions to residents’ activities.

Key security locations include Pangeran Jayakarta Mosque on Jatinegara Kaum Road, which is annually crowded during Idul Adha, and At-Tin Mosque at Taman Mini Indonesia Indah (TMII), a major religious activity hub during holidays.

Beyond religious activities, East Jakarta Satpol PP is also preparing for potential crowds at tourist spots and busy areas during the shared holiday, with inter-sector coordination to maintain control.

Muhammadong urged the public to maintain public order and comply with officers’ instructions during takbir night, Eid prayers, and animal sacrifice activities.
