Jakarta (ANTARA) - Chair of the East Jakarta Posyandu Development Team, Essie Feransie Munjirin, is promoting innovation and transformation to improve the quality of services provided to the community.

“This transformation is tangible proof that Posyandu are increasingly adaptive in addressing the evolving needs of the community,” said Essie to Posyandu Dewa 2 on Jalan Gelanggang Olahraga, RW 06, Makasar Ward, Makasar District, on Wednesday.

This was stated during a visit and series of events commemorating National Posyandu Day 2026, as well as an opportunity to motivate Posyandu cadres.

Essie highlighted the importance of Posyandu’s role as the frontline in serving the community down to the grassroots level.

She encouraged cadres to continue enhancing innovation and strengthening cross-sector synergies to improve service quality for the community.

According to Essie, Posyandu have undergone significant transformation. No longer focused solely on maternal and child health services, Posyandu have now developed into broader, integrated community service centres.

Through an approach based on six Minimum Service Standards (SPM), Posyandu provide various services covering health, education, and social sectors.

“The services now available at Posyandu go beyond health checks to include consultations on education programmes such as the Jakarta Smart Card (KJP) and the Jakarta Outstanding Student Card (KJMU),” explained Essie.

Additionally, Posyandu offer social services, including assistance for those in need, such as hearing aids.

Essie also expressed appreciation for the dedication of Posyandu cadres who have been actively serving the community.

She commended the participation of residents, which plays a crucial role in strengthening Posyandu’s function as a community-based service centre.

“Posyandu in the midst of the community are expected to expand service access, strengthen inter-sector collaboration, and sustainably enhance community quality of life,” said Essie.

Furthermore, Essie invited all parties to use the 2026 National Posyandu Day commemoration as a momentum to reinforce collective commitment in delivering inclusive, responsive services with real impact for all segments of society.
