East Jakarta police get new boss
JAKARTA (JP): The city police chief, Major General Hamami Nata, yesterday installed Lt. Col. Nanan Soekarna as the new chief of the East Jakarta police precinct, replacing Lt. Col. Gories Mere.
"Gories Mere has succeeded in solving a series of murder cases, including the killing of police Major Nunang Kohar, the slaughter of Rohadi's wife and children and a series murders of children which are widely called the sodomy sexual assaults," Hamami said.
The murders of Kohar and Rohadi's wife and children happened in October last year, while the sodomy killings surfaced in July.
Hamami said that Mere had successfully regulated traffic flows on the Cawang interchange roads and at the Jatinegara market and shopping centers.
Gories was promoted to become the coordinator of personal secretaries to the city police chief. (kod)
