Jakarta (ANTARA) - The East Jakarta Environmental Service (LH) has transported 110 tonnes of waste from the Temporary Waste Storage Site (TPS) on Jalan Pendidikan RW 06, Cijantung Ward, Pasar Rebo Subdistrict. “A total of 110 tonnes of waste was successfully removed from the site after previously facing obstacles due to restrictions on disposal to the Bantargebang Integrated Waste Processing Site (TPST),” said Acting Head of the Pasar Rebo Subdistrict Environmental Executive Unit, Dwi Firmansyah, when contacted in Jakarta on Wednesday. Dwi assured that the TPS conditions have now returned to normal. The previously towering piles of waste have been thoroughly cleared. “The situation is now starting to normalise. Thus, the waste piles at the Jalan Pendidikan TPS have been completely cleared,” Dwi stated. The waste transportation process took two days, from Monday (30/3) to Tuesday (31/3). On Wednesday (1/4), the TPS was reported to be clean with no waste accumulation. Meanwhile, Staff of the Pasar Rebo Subdistrict Environmental Executive Unit, Marudin, added that the cleaning process involved deploying 10 units of large trucks, each with a capacity of around 10 tonnes. According to him, the waste transportation had previously been hindered by quota restrictions on disposal to TPST Bantargebang. These restrictions were imposed following a landslide incident at the waste mountain there some time ago. “There were indeed obstacles yesterday, with quota restrictions on waste disposal to Bantargebang,” Marudin said. In the future, they plan to add waste processing facilities at the site, one of which is introducing an incinerator machine provided by Kodam Jaya. This waste-burning machine is planned to operate 24 hours a day to reduce dependence on disposal to TPST Bantargebang.
