Jakarta (ANTARA) - The East Jakarta municipal government (Pemkot) is encouraging integrated health posts (posyandu) to be more active in supporting community empowerment in the health sector towards Golden Indonesia 2045.

“Through this jamboree, we hope the spirit of posyandu cadres will continue to grow so they can keep giving their best service to the community and encourage residents to actively monitor the growth and development of toddlers through posyandu,” said East Jakarta Mayor Munjirin while attending the 2026 East Jakarta Administrative City-Level Posyandu Cadre Health Jamboree at the East Jakarta Mayor’s Office on Thursday.

Munjirin said this year’s jamboree carries the theme “Active Posyandu, Healthy Families, Great Society Towards Golden Indonesia 2045”.

The theme affirms the important role of posyandu as one of the main pillars in realising a healthy society through community empowerment and strengthening primary healthcare services.

The jamboree aims to improve the capacity, competence, motivation and networks of posyandu cadres, while also giving appreciation to cadres and posyandu.

“This demonstrates dedication and innovation in supporting health development in the East Jakarta area,” said Munjirin.

Prior to the city-level jamboree, a series of selections was held starting from the kelurahan (urban village) level, then the kecamatan (district) level, through to the East Jakarta Administrative City-level assessment on 21–22 July 2026.

Meanwhile, Head of the East Jakarta City Health Office Arief Wahyudhy explained that the jamboree’s peak event also featured various supporting activities, including a talkshow on effective communication with the community to equip cadres in increasing residents’ participation in visiting posyandu.

The challenge still being faced is increasing the attendance of mothers with toddlers so that all toddlers can have their growth and development monitored regularly.

In addition, the development of the Posyandu Integrasi Layanan Primer (ILP), or Posyandu for Integrated Primary Services, continues to be encouraged so that services target not only toddlers but also teenagers, the elderly and the productive age group.

“Community attendance at active posyandu has now reached more than 60 per cent. The various innovations born from each posyandu are expected to become an added attraction for residents to come to posyandu and later represent East Jakarta at the DKI Jakarta provincial level,” he explained.

The event was attended by 200 participants representing various elements, namely the East Jakarta municipal government, the PKK Family Welfare Movement Mobilisation Team (TP PKK), district heads (camat), urban village heads (lurah), community health centre heads, programme officers, posyandu cadres, and partners supporting community empowerment in the health sector.

The event featured the presentation of awards and expressions of thanks from the East Jakarta municipal government to all district heads, urban village heads, TP PKK, community health centre heads, the cadre forum, the jury panel, and the organising committee who supported the entire selection process up to the staging of the 2026 East Jakarta City-Level Posyandu Cadre Jamboree.
