The East Jakarta District Court will impose strict security measures during the first trial of Tifauzia Tyassuma, also known as Dokter Tifa, who is accused of defamation and slander concerning the authenticity of former President Joko Widodo’s academic certificates. The trial is scheduled for Thursday at 09:00 WIB.

Court spokesperson Immanuel Tarigan stated on Wednesday that the security cordon will begin at the court’s main gate. The measure aims to ensure the trial proceeds smoothly and to anticipate a potential surge in visitors and supporters. Tarigan noted that the high level of public attention surrounding the case necessitates the restrictions, and he urged the public not to flock to the courthouse.

Only parties with a direct interest in the trial will be permitted entry. The East Jakarta District Court has appointed a panel of judges to preside over the special criminal case, registered under number 301/Pid.Sus/2026/PN Jkt Tim. The panel will be led by Chief Judge Christina Endarwati, with Rudi Rafli Siregar and Mathilda Chrystina Katarina serving as member judges. Two substitute clerks, Joyo Supriyanto and Zuliana Maro, have also been appointed to support the trial’s administration.

Meanwhile, the case against co-defendant Roy Suryo cannot yet proceed as it is awaiting a pre-trial hearing at the South Jakarta District Court. The case files for both defendants were transferred by the prosecutor’s office to the East Jakarta District Court on 23 June 2026 and were declared complete following an administrative review by the criminal case registry.
