East Jakarta Civil Police Deploy 500 Personnel to Secure Eid Gathering Points
Jakarta — The Civil Police Unit (Satuan Polisi Pamong Praja/Satpol PP) of East Jakarta is deploying 500 personnel to maintain order and security at crowded Eid gathering points in 2026.
“For security assistance during the mudik exodus, return journey, and Eid holiday period, we are deploying 500 Satpol PP personnel who will work alongside other security forces in the field,” said East Jakarta Satpol PP Chief Muhammadong in Jakarta on Tuesday.
Security efforts are concentrated at key crowded locations, mudik transit routes, and tourist areas where increased public activity is expected.
The 500 personnel will be deployed from 13-25 March 2026. They will strengthen security operations jointly with police, TNI, and other government agencies during the Eid holiday period.
“Personnel placement is also concentrated at several integrated security posts spread across strategic points in East Jakarta,” Muhammadong said.
Priority security locations include the Security Post beneath the Cakung-Cilincing toll road at Jalan Raya Sri Sultan Hamengkubuwono IX, the Integrated Security Post at Pulo Gebang Integrated Terminal, and the Pangkalan Jati Junction Integrated Post.
Personnel are also stationed at Tamini Square Integrated Post, Jatinegara Station Integrated Command Centre, and Kampung Rambutan Terminal Integrated Post, which serve as important transport hubs for mudik travellers.
The presence of officers at these locations aims to maintain public order and help anticipate potential crowd management issues.
Muhammadong further stated that security operations are not limited to daytime hours but intensified during nighttime Eid celebrations. Key gathering areas including the Eastern Flood Canal (KBT), Kampung Melayu Flyover, and Pasar Rebo Flyover are focus points.
In addition to the security posts, Satpol PP personnel conduct mobile patrols in the border areas of East Jakarta with surrounding districts. This measure aims to prevent potential disturbances and maintain conducive conditions during Eid celebrations.
Through these efforts, East Jakarta Satpol PP hopes residents can celebrate Eid in safety and comfort, whether they are travelling home or remaining in the capital during the Eid holiday period.
“In this operation, we have established 27 integrated posts spread throughout East Jakarta to prevent signs of brawling,” said East Jakarta Metro Police Deputy Chief AKBP Achmad Akbar on 2 February 2026.
Operation Pekat Jaya 2026 is part of a centralised directive from the Jakarta Metro Police that is being implemented simultaneously across the Jakarta Metro Police jurisdiction, including East Jakarta.
The operation aims to maintain security and public order (kamtibmas), particularly ahead of Ramadhan.
The posts involve various elements including police, East Jakarta City Government, TNI/Polri, Military District Command (Kodim) 0505, and community members.
Twenty personnel are assigned to each integrated post. Of these, 10 personnel come from police forces, whether from East Jakarta Metro Police or the Jakarta Metro Police.
The remaining 10 personnel consist of Satpol PP, Kodim 0505 East Jakarta, and community members from the area surrounding the post.
