East Jakarta City Government Repaints Road Kerbs in Malaka Jaya Ahead of 81st Independence Day

The East Jakarta City Government, through the Malaka Jaya sub-district, is repainting road kerbs on Jalan I Gusti Ngurah Rai and Jalan RS Soekamto ahead of the 81st Anniversary of the Republic of Indonesia. Malaka Jaya Sub-district Head Eko Purnomo Asih stated on Monday that 16 Public Facilities and Infrastructure Handling (PPSU) personnel from the Duren Sawit sub-district were deployed to repaint the kerbs. He noted the repainting was necessary because the colour on the kerbs along both roads had faded and become dull. The kerbs are being painted in the characteristic black and white colours of road edges. The work began last week and is targeted for completion this week. The length of kerb being painted on Jalan I Gusti Ngurah Rai is approximately 2 kilometres, stretching from the Pondok Kopi flyover underpass to the border with Malaka Sari, with nine PPSU personnel assigned to the task. Meanwhile, on Jalan RS Soekamto, approximately 1 kilometre of kerb on each side of the road is being repainted by seven PPSU personnel. Eko expressed hope that the repainting would enhance the city’s aesthetic beauty while also creating a sense of safety and comfort for motorists, especially at night.
