Jakarta (ANTARA) - The East Jakarta municipal government has formed the Community Early Vigilance Forum (FKDM) to serve as professional front-line ambassadors for early vigilance, capable of answering the challenges of the times through early detection.

“The existence of the Community Early Vigilance Forum is increasingly relevant as the spearhead of early detection within society,” said East Jakarta Mayor Munjirin during an FKDM technical guidance event at the East Jakarta Mayoralty Office on Monday.

On that occasion, Munjirin asked all FKDM members to become professional early vigilance ambassadors who are adaptive, responsive, and able to meet the challenges of the times through early detection, early prevention, rapid reporting, and collaborative problem-solving.

According to Munjirin, the very rapid pace of social developments demands ever stronger early detection capabilities.

“The government cannot work alone, so it requires active community participation as a strategic partner in maintaining security and public order in the region,” said Munjirin.

Furthermore, Munjirin explained that most FKDM members for the 2026–2031 term of service are new members, making this technical guidance activity an important provision for understanding their duties and functions.

“So that everyone understands, including the reporting mechanism, the coordination pattern with the government, security apparatus, and all stakeholders,” said Munjirin.

Munjirin also reminded that every potential threat to security, public order, or social conflict must be reported promptly, through the proper channels, and in accordance with applicable mechanisms, so that preventive measures can be taken immediately.

This is in line with the mandate of Governor’s Regulation of the Special Capital Region of Jakarta Number 138 of 2019 on Early Vigilance Administration, which aims to strengthen the role of regional government and community participation in maintaining stability, security, tranquillity, and public order.

Munjirin expressed hope that all participants would be able to enhance their capacity in order to carry out their duties professionally, objectively, swiftly, and responsibly.

“With a spirit of togetherness, let us realise an East Jakarta that is safe, orderly, and harmonious, and that supports the vision of Jakarta as a Global City that is competitive and cultured,” said Munjirin.

The event, organised by the National Unity and Politics Agency (Suban Kesbangpol) of East Jakarta, featured speakers including Hartono Priadi Sastra, Head of the Socio-Cultural Team of the DKI Jakarta Regional Office of the State Intelligence Agency (BIN), and Diky Budi Ramadhan, Special Staff to the DKI Jakarta Governor for Youth and Sports.
