The East Jakarta City Government is strengthening the understanding of members of the Community Early Awareness Forum (FKDM) for the 2026–2031 term of service to maintain the security stability of the local region. East Jakarta Deputy Mayor Kusmanto stated that the FKDM is expected to carry out its role as the eyes and ears of the government in detecting early on various potential problems that could disrupt public security, peace, and order in East Jakarta. According to Kusmanto, this socialisation serves as initial briefing for new FKDM members to understand their duties, functions, reporting mechanisms, and coordination patterns with the government, security forces, and all stakeholders. Moreover, the presence of the FKDM is expected to increase capacity so that it can carry out its duties professionally, objectively, quickly, and responsibly in maintaining regional stability. Kusmanto emphasised four important points to all FKDM members. First, the FKDM is expected to be the eyes and ears of the government within the community by building good communication with all elements of society so that various potential problems can be identified early on. Second, the FKDM must improve its analytical skills regarding every piece of information obtained so that the information conveyed is accurate, accountable, and not based on unverified issues or opinions. Third, the FKDM must build strong synergy with the city government, sub-districts, urban villages, the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI), the Indonesian National Police (Polri), the State Intelligence Agency (BIN), religious leaders, community leaders, youth leaders, and all other elements of society. ‘Regional stability can only be realised through solid collaboration,’ said Kusmanto. Fourth, the FKDM must report any potential threats to security, peace, or social conflict quickly, in stages, and according to applicable mechanisms so that preventive measures can be taken immediately. The implementation of early awareness is mandated in DKI Jakarta Provincial Governor Regulation Number 138 of 2019, which aims to increase the role of the regional government and community participation in maintaining public security, peace, and order. Kusmanto invited FKDM members to become a professional, adaptive, and responsive forum capable of answering the challenges of the times through early detection, early prevention, quick reporting, and collaborative problem-solving. ‘With a spirit of togetherness, let us realise an East Jakarta that is safe, orderly, and harmonious, and supports Jakarta’s vision as a competitive and cultured Global City,’ said Kusmanto.
