East Jakarta Administration Ready to Secure Takbiran Celebrations and 2026 Eid Holiday Travel
Jakarta — East Jakarta City Government has stated its readiness to secure the takbiran celebrations for Eid al-Fitr 1447 Hijriah and the upcoming 2026 Eid holiday travel surge.
“Alhamdulillah, our preparations for the takbiran celebrations and upcoming holiday travel have all been implemented in accordance with the existing standard operating procedures,” said East Jakarta Mayor Munjirin at East Jakarta City Hall on Thursday.
These preparations were confirmed after a leadership meeting was held involving various cross-sector elements, ranging from the local government, security apparatus, to healthcare personnel.
Munjirin stated that the meeting was conducted to ensure all security preparation efforts proceeded according to established procedures.
“We started with a leadership meeting regarding the Eid security celebrations and holiday travel. Briefings have been presented by city government officials, the police, military, and the Prosecutor’s Office. Health authorities also provided their input, including the Director of Duren Sawit General Hospital,” explained Munjirin.
According to him, all involved agencies have presented their respective readiness, both in terms of territorial security, healthcare services, and preparedness for potential increases in public activity during the Eid holiday.
Munjirin emphasised that inter-agency coordination is the main key to maintaining a safe and conducive situation during the Eid celebration period.
Beyond official preparations, Munjirin also invited residents to actively participate in securing their respective neighbourhoods during the Eid season. He considered public participation vital to creating a safe and comfortable atmosphere.
“All agencies and personnel are ready to provide security; it just requires community support to implement everything. I request our collective attention to maintain our villages and East Jakarta City properly,” said Munjirin.
East Jakarta City Government hopes that the takbiran celebrations through the Eid holiday travel period this year will run smoothly, safely, and orderly.
With support from all parties, it is hoped that the community can celebrate Eid al-Fitr with full devotion without security or public order disturbances.
“In this operation, we have established 27 integrated command posts spread across the entire East Jakarta area to prevent indications of activities leading to street fighting,” said Deputy Chief of East Jakarta Metro Police AKBP Achmad Akbar during a press conference at East Jakarta Metro Police Headquarters on Monday (2 February).
Operation Pekat Jaya 2026 is part of a centralised instruction from Metro Jaya Police Command, executed simultaneously across the Metro Jaya Police jurisdiction, including East Jakarta.
This operation aims to maintain public security and order stability, particularly ahead of Ramadhan.
The command posts involve various elements, ranging from police, East Jakarta City Government, TNI/Polri, Military Regional Command 0505, to community members.
Meanwhile, ten additional personnel consist of Civil Police Units (Satpol PP), Military Regional Command 0505 East Jakarta, and community members around the command post locations.
