East Jakarta Administration Promotes MSME Digitalisation through Creative Economy Technical Guidance
The East Jakarta Administration, through the Sub-department of Tourism and Creative Economy, is pushing for the accelerated digitalisation of micro-enterments via technical guidance (bimtek) for creative economy development.
“In this guidance, digitalisation is also taught. The goal is to eventually integrate everything into an application that supports micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) from upstream to downstream,” stated the Mayor of East Jakarta, Munjirin, during the opening of the 2026 creative economy development technical guidance in East Jakarta on Tuesday.
In this programme, 300 Jakpreneur participants under the auspices of the East Jakarta Sub-department of Tourism and Creative Economy received training related to digital-based business development. Munjirin noted that digital transformation is a primary focus for the East Jakarta Administration to enhance MSME competitiveness amidst intense market competition. He added that technological advancements require entrepreneurs to be more adaptive, particularly in product marketing and business network expansion.
Furthermore, Munjirin explained that the digitalisation concept being developed by the East Jakarta Administration will encompass various business aspects, including product marketing, access to capital, and the strengthening of business networks. “Marketing requires skilled personnel, and increasing capital requires access to financing sources. All of these processes are being implemented in East Jakarta,” Munjirin explained.
In addition to digitalisation, participants received training on business management strategies, such as product packaging techniques, financial management, and business management development. Munjirin expressed hope that through this training, Jakpreneur entrepreneurs would be able to scale up and expand their market reach. “The hope is that these entrepreneurs will grow and contribute to the economic development of East Jakarta,” ing said Munjirin.
The programme, themed “Strengthening the Capacity of Creative Economy Actors through Product Development, Marketing Digitalisation, and Financial Performance Reporting,” was designed to address the challenges faced by creative entrepreneurs in the digital era. Participants included Jakpreneur members, creative economy actors, and residents of East Jakarta from various creative sub-sectors, including both new entrepreneurs and established business owners who had not previously attended similar training.
