East Jakarta Administration Constructs New Pavement on Jalan Raya Bogor

The East Jakarta City Government, through the Department of Road Infrastructure, is constructing new pavements and kerbs spanning approximately 100 metres on Jalan Raya Bogor, RW 01, Kramat Jati.

“The construction progress is currently around 60 per cent and is targeted to be completed by next Thursday,” said the Head of the East Jakarta Road Infrastructure Department, Benhard Hutajembel, in Jakarta on Monday.

He noted that the pavement is being built with a width of 2 to 2.5 metres. The construction of this facility aims to improve the safety and comfort of the public, including both pedestrians and motorists passing through the area.

“I request that this pavement is not occupied for vending or any other uses that do not align with its intended purpose,” Benhard stated.

Meanwhile, the Head of the Roads and Bridges Section of the East Jakarta Road Infrastructure Department, Akli Naim, added that the work on the pavement and kerbs involves approximately 90 personnel from the ‘Pasukan Kuning’ (Yellow Troops) across 10 sub-districts.

“The initial plan was to construct pavements and kerbs spanning approximately 1,145 metres, from in front of the Yellow Bee Hotel to the front of the TNI AD Ditbekang Headquarters,” Akli explained.

“We have conducted a study, and currently, 100 metres can be realised. The material being used is paving blocks,” said Akli.

Additionally, the arrangement of the Kramat Jati Managed Area (Lokbin) on Jalan Raya Bogor, East Jakarta, intended for the relocation of 193 street vendors—specifically fishmongers—has reached 85 per cent completion.

“The arrangement has reached 85 per cent. We are now at the finishing stage, including the installation of lights and repairs to toilet doors. Everything else is ready,” said the Mayor of East Jakarta, Munjirin, in Jakarta on Monday.

The Kramat Jati Managed Area will accommodate 193 fishmongers and similar traders who previously sold on the pavements in front of the Kramat Jati Market.

The arrangement involves approximately 100 joint personnel, ranging from sub-district/district officials, PPSU (Public Infrastructure and Facilities Improvement) officers, Road Infrastructure Task Force, Environmental Services, Fire and Rescue (Gulkarmat), Public Order Agency (Satpol PP), Transportation Department, and the Industry, Trade, Cooperatives, Small and Medium Enterprises (PPKUKM) Department, among others.
