East Aceh Regency head Iskandar Usman Al-Farlaky reminded disaster victims living in temporary housing (huntara) to maintain and care for the accommodation and its facilities. ‘We remind residents to take care of the temporary housing along with its facilities. All huntara facilities are provided free of charge by the government,’ Iskandar Usman Al-Farlaky said in Aceh Timur on Wednesday. Huntara Blang Nie village is a communal housing complex built with 28 units for residents affected by the hydrometeorological disaster that struck the area at the end of November 2025. During the visit, the East Aceh Regent handed out aid in the form of basic necessities parcels to huntara residents. The Regent also presented donations to orphans in the huntara. Iskandar Usman Al-Farlaky said the facilities provided at the temporary housing include electricity and internet connectivity to allow communication for the disaster-affected residents living there. ‘All facilities provided, namely electricity and internet connectivity, are provided free of charge. Please look after them well so they can be used collectively in the long term,’ he said. In addition, the East Aceh Regent said the local government will continue to push for additional assistance in line with the needs of the affected community. Iskandar Usman Al-Farlaky said they have signed a letter requesting living entitlements from the recovery task force for the disaster-affected people now living in huntara. ‘We hope that the living entitlements can be distributed soon, so that those living in huntara are aided and feel the government’s presence,’ he said.
