Banda Aceh — East Aceh Regent Iskandar Usman Al-Farlaky has stated that 298 billion rupiah in funds for homes damaged by hydrometeorological disasters in the district are ready for distribution to recipients.

“We have ensured that the 298 billion rupiah for homes damaged by flooding is available in the distributor’s account through Bank Syariah Indonesia,” said Iskandar Usman Al-Farlaky in East Aceh on Friday.

The regent also proposed that the fund distribution process should involve Bank Aceh Syariah. This would facilitate public comfort and orderly processes, preventing crowding during withdrawals.

“The funds are available in the distributor’s account. We want the process to be orderly and not create long queues. That is why we propose involving Bank Aceh Syariah so that the public is not concentrated at a single bank,” he said.

According to him, the funds represent great hope for thousands of residents whose homes were damaged by the major flooding that began on 26 November 2025.

Based on regional government data, he said that in the initial phase, more than 8,000 damaged housing units were proposed for verification. However, approximately 3,500 units were deemed ineligible (TMS).

Nevertheless, the East Aceh District Government continues to provide avenues for complaints and data re-entry for residents who believe they have not been accommodated, said Iskandar Usman.

The regent explained that home damage assessments from the flooding are based on the latest guidelines, considering mud height. Homes with mud height between 20 and 50 centimetres fall into the light damage category and are entitled to a 15 million rupiah stimulus.

“Meanwhile, homes buried in mud with heights ranging from 50 to 70 centimetres fall into the moderate damage category with a 30 million rupiah stimulus,” he said.

He also instructed district heads and village leaders to post lists of proposed aid recipients as a form of public verification, while also providing complaint forms for residents who have not been recorded.

“The East Aceh District Government hopes that the post-flood recovery process can proceed more rapidly, in an orderly manner, and target those in need, so that thousands of affected families can soon return to inhabiting adequate housing,” said Iskandar Usman Al-Farlaky.
