East Aceh Regency Accelerates Distribution of Stimulus Funds for Houses Damaged by Disasters
The East Aceh Regency Government, Aceh Province, is accelerating the distribution of stimulus funds for the handling of houses damaged by floods, with total realised assistance reaching Rp118.9 billion.
“The distribution of stimulus funds is a government effort to accelerate post-disaster recovery while ensuring that the community can return to occupy decent and safe housing,” said the Regent of East Aceh, Iskandar Usman Alfarlaky, in East Aceh on Monday.
He stated that assistance for lightly damaged houses has been distributed to 2,707 recipients with a value of Rp40.6 billion, while assistance for moderately damaged houses has been received by 2,611 recipients with a total budget of Rp78.3 billion. He added that the acceleration of aid distribution is being continuously carried out so that the community can immediately repair their damaged homes.
“This is a form of the government’s commitment to helping the community regain decent and safe places to live after being affected by hydrometeorological disasters in late November 2025,” he said.
In detail, 355 lightly damaged houses received Rp4.26 billion in aid, and 277 moderately damaged houses received Rp6.64 billion in aid.
“The distribution of aid is carried out in stages through the accounts of the beneficiaries, facilitated by Bank Syariah Indonesia (BSI). We hope the disbursement process runs smoothly so that the community can immediately begin the construction and repair of their homes,” said Iskandar Usman.
Among all sub-districts receiving the stimulus fund programme, Simpang Ulim District has the highest number of beneficiaries, with 720 lightly damaged and 591 moderately damaged houses. In Simpang Jernih District, aid has been distributed for 100 lightly damaged and 50 moderately damaged houses. In Pante Bidari District, aid has been received for 45 lightly damaged and 609 moderately damaged houses. In Madat District, out of a total of 190 lightly damaged and 262 moderately damaged houses recorded, aid has been distributed for 14 lightly damaged and 42 moderately damaged houses.
Several other sub-districts, such as Peureulak Barat, Ranto Peureulak, Peunaron, Idi Rayeuk, Banda Alam, Julok, Peudawa, and Idi Tunong, also show increasing progress in distribution. The East Aceh Regency Government aims for all stimulus funds to be distributed accurately to ensure the post-disaster recovery process proceeds more rapidly.
“With this assistance, thousands of families who have been living with limitations due to house damage are expected to be able to return to living more comfortably,” said Iskandar Usman Alfarlaky.
