The East Aceh government is accelerating administrative processes to speed up the construction of permanent housing for communities affected by flooding in Serbajadi District. Bupati Iskandar Usman Al-Farlaky recently held a meeting with residents, landowners, and relevant parties to discuss the resolution of land acquisition administration. The local government has prepared two locations with a total area of six hectares, planned to accommodate residents from three villages in Serbajadi District. Al-Farlaky stated that resolving land issues is the most critical step, requiring the willingness and commitment of the community to ensure the land acquisition process can be completed promptly. The East Aceh administration is also expediting the completion of ownership documents to ensure the land status is clear and to prevent future legal complications. Once the administration is finalised, the coordinates of the two sites will be submitted to the Post-Disaster Rehabilitation and Reconstruction Task Force for Sumatra for further action with relevant ministries. Al-Farlaky noted that if the land administration is completed in August 2026, the Ministry of Housing and Settlement Areas will conduct field verification as the next step towards construction. He emphasised that permanent housing development is a crucial part of post-disaster recovery in Aceh, with the task force recording the highest needs in Gayo Lues, Aceh Tamiang, Aceh Utara, and Aceh Tengah.
