Earthquake rocks Kupang

KUPANG, East Nusa Tenggara: A tectonic earthquake measuring
5.2 at Richter scale rocked the East Nusa Tenggara capital of
Kupang at 1:22 p.m. local time on Wednesday.

No damage or casualties were reported, but the tremor caused
hundreds of people to rush out of their houses and offices in
panic, including provincial secretary T.H. Hermanus.

According Rivai Marulak of the Kupang Meteorology and
Geophysics Office, the earthquake epicenter was located 265
kilometers northwest of Kupang at 147 kilometers deep. The
earthquake's intensity was measured between 1 and 3 MMI. --Antara
