Early Health Screening in Cirebon Reveals High Risk of Non-Communicable Diseases Among Residents
Government’s free health check-up programme has only reached 21% of its target in Cirebon for 2025. Dexa Group, through Dharma Dexa, is supporting the Ministry of Health’s priority initiative by bringing the Triad Check programme to the city for the first time.
At Bima Stadium on Sunday, 24 May 2026, 582 residents underwent free screenings for blood pressure, blood sugar, and cholesterol. Results showed 62.7% were at high risk for non-communicable diseases: 40.5% with hypertension, 31.6% with high cholesterol, and 14.1% showing signs of diabetes. Participants aged 41 to 60 made up the majority.
Dr. Ruhil S, General Practitioner at Mitra Plumbon Hospital in Cirebon, said the findings reflect what he encounters daily in his ward.
‘At our hospital, we frequently see patients unaware they have hypertension or diabetes until they present with complications such as stroke, heart disease, or kidney problems. Early screening is therefore crucial,’ he said.
He added that daily eating habits are the root cause of recurring issues. ‘Many participants consume high-salt diets, fast food, and excessive sugar, directly linking to risks of hypertension, high cholesterol, and diabetes,’ he explained.
Mr. Jopie Johansyah, Sales Director of OGB-Zeta PT Dexa Medica, stated that the low uptake of the free health check-up (CKG) in Cirebon prompted their decision to operate there.
‘The CKG programme in Cirebon has only reached 21% of its target, which is why we chose this city as our next location. We want to ensure Cirebon residents have equal access to know their health status before it’s too late. This is just the first step, and we’re committed to continuing,’ he said.
Cirebon is the latest stop in the Triad Check’s journey, which has now reached over 12,000 residents across various cities. Dexa Group plans to expand the programme to more cities, in line with the government’s target to increase national preventive health coverage.
