Each House Participating in the Roofing Assistance Programme Will Receive Rp 3 Million
JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - The government is preparing a roofing assistance programme within the Self-Help Housing Stimulus Assistance (BSPS) scheme, with the required funding reaching Rp 2 million to Rp 3 million per house.
Minister of Housing and Urban Development, Maruarar Sirait, stated that this programme is part of the integration of the government’s public housing policies, along with various financing schemes and efforts to improve the quality of homes.
According to him, the BSPS programme not only focuses on repairing the structure of houses but is also aimed at absorbing domestic products, including roofing tiles produced by micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs).
Director General of Human Settlements at the Ministry of PKP, Fitrah Nur, added that the budget required for the roofing component in the BSPS programme is estimated to range from Rp 2 million to Rp 3 million per house.
In addition to the roofing programme, the government is also integrating several housing financing schemes such as Tapera, PNM, SMF, and Housing Micro-loans (KUR Perumahan) to expand the reach of assistance and reduce the burden on the community.
Sirait mentioned that starting in 2026, all housing programmes will use the database of the Central Bureau of Statistics (BPS) to ensure that assistance is distributed more effectively, taking into account the population and poverty levels in each region.
He also emphasised the importance of synergy between the central and regional governments in addressing slum areas, which is planned to take place in 15 provinces in 2026.
Through the integration of these programmes, the government aims to improve the quality of homes for the community while also promoting the economic independence of the beneficiaries, so that the improved homes can be maintained and do not revert to being slum areas.
