E. Timor gets new police chief
DILI, East Timor: Nusa Tenggara Police Chief Maj. Gen. Amrin Sarofin on Saturday inducted Lt. Col. Sugianto Andreas as the new chief of the East Timor Precinct.
Sugianto replaced Col. Noegroho Djansman, who has led the precinct of this security-sensitive territory for the past three years.
Noegroho is scheduled to undertake an eight-month course at the National Resilience Institute (Lemhanas) in Jakarta before his next assignment.
Sugianto had been the deputy chief of East Timor Police Precinct before his promotion on Saturday. (yac/emb)
