Jakarta (ANTARA) – PT Delta Sukses Teknologi, a key player in the e-cigarette industry, has expressed its support for the government’s efforts to tighten regulations in order to create a healthier, more transparent, and more responsible business ecosystem in the long term.

Commercial and Corporate Director of PT Delta Sukses Teknologi, Ira Octaviera, stated during a media gathering in Jakarta on Tuesday that the e-cigarette industry is currently moving towards a more mature structure after undergoing a period of consolidation throughout 2025, marked by regulatory adjustments and strengthened oversight.

According to her, the industry’s growth trend remains positive, as reflected in the 7.38 per cent increase in e-cigarette excise revenue in 2025 compared to the previous year.

“Standardisation and compliance with regulations are the main foundations for maintaining the sustainability of the industry. Innovation remains important, but it must go hand in hand with transparency and a commitment to providing responsible products for consumers,” she said.

In line with this, she said that her company also believes that strengthening regulations can actually encourage healthier and more focused industry growth.

“We see that, as an industry, Indonesia’s e-cigarette sector is already better, and we are actually tightening regulations further. Which is why we support it, because the stricter the regulations, the more the industry will continue to develop,” she said.

Ira said that in 2026, the process of developing standards and product regulations will continue, including through the involvement of associations and coordination with regulators.

In addition to product regulation, the industry also highlights the importance of oversight to prevent the misuse of vape devices for illegal activities, including drug use.

Therefore, she said that the industry expresses its support for the National Narcotics Agency (BNN) in establishing appropriate policies and encouraging open dialogue between the government, business players, the industry ecosystem, and the health sector.

“So, we strongly support the BNN in implementing or determining policies that are very appropriate for the industry, and we hope that the government will also conduct an open dialogue with industry players,” she said.

She said that her company ensures that all production, distribution, and marketing processes are carried out in accordance with applicable regulations, including through product testing in national and international laboratories, as well as the implementation of limited sales policies for consumers aged 21 and over.
