Dynamics of the DKI DPRD Chair Position, Suhud Alynudin Emerges as Replacement for Khoirudin

JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - The position of Chairman of the DKI Jakarta DPRD is undergoing a change. This alteration forms part of the political dynamics in the capital as well as the internal party mechanisms within the regional parliament. In the plenary session of the DKI Jakarta DPRD on Thursday (30/4/2026), Deputy Chairman Ima Mahdiah explained that the dismissal of DKI DPRD Chairman Khoirudin is a follow-up to the internal decision of the Prosperous Justice Party (PKS). The proposal for this replacement refers to the Decree of the PKS Central Executive Board Number 179/S-K/P/DPP-PKS dated 2 April 2026. “The other DPRD leaders reported the proposal for replacing the DPRD leadership and the dismissal of the DPRD leadership was determined in the plenary session,” said Ima on Thursday. In the same session, the name of Suhud Alynudin from the PKS Faction was announced as the candidate to replace DKI DPRD Chairman Khoirudin. The session was attended by 83 out of a total of 106 DPRD members, or about 78 percent, thus declared to meet the quorum and valid for making decisions. The replacement of Khoirudin and the appointment of Suhud were then put to the approval of all session participants. “Next, we would like to ask the honourable plenary session forum of this council, whether the proposal to replace Mr Drs. H. Khoirudin, M.Si. as Chairman of the DKI Jakarta Provincial DPRD can be approved?,” asked Ima. “Agreed!” the session participants replied in unison, followed by the gavel strike and resounding applause. Subsequently, the proposal for the appointment of Suhud Alynudin will be submitted to the Minister of Home Affairs through the Governor of DKI Jakarta, Pramono Anung. Pramono stated that he would promptly follow up on the proposal so that the leadership replacement process can be established quickly. “Later, once the letter has been delivered to the DKI Jakarta Government, to me as governor, I will immediately follow it up to the Ministry of Home Affairs to become a decision,” said Pramono.
