DWP Management Claims Name Was Misused in 'Whip Pink' Promotion During Police Investigation
The management of the Djakarta Warehouse Project (DWP) organisers has responded to summons from investigators at the National Police Criminal Investigation Agency (Bareskrim Polri). They provided clarification regarding alleged promotions of nitrous oxide (N2O) or ‘laughing gas’ known as ‘Whip Pink’, which were conducted alongside the DWP event in 2023.
David Ferdian, Director of Ismaya Live, explained that he arrived at Bareskrim Polri in South Jakarta on Monday afternoon to address approximately 14 questions from investigators. “We are providing clarification today to support our colleagues in the investigators at the National Police Headquarters,” David told reporters following the examination.
David emphasised that his company has no working relationship with Whip Pink, asserting that the brand had misappropriated the DWP name for its own promotional purposes. The promotion in question was posted on the Whip Pink Instagram account on 3 December 2023, offering a ‘buy 5 get 1 free’ deal on N2O cylinders during the DWP XV event in Bali.
David confirmed there were no contracts, affiliations, or sponsorships involved, and noted that neither DWP’s official social media nor Ismaya Live’s advertisements ever posted content related to the product. “Regarding the Whip Pink promo in 2023, we are clarifying that this is not related to DWP. We are not affiliated with, sponsored by, or in partnership with Whip Pink,” he said. He added that the logo used in the promotion was unofficial and incorrect.
Management claims they only became aware of the unauthorised use of their name in late January 2026, when the Whip Pink issue began trending on social media. In response, the management took firm action by contacting Whip Pink via Instagram and WhatsApp to demand the removal of the promotional content. David stated that Whip Pink has since complied with the request to take down the posts.
Furthermore, David guaranteed that no Whip Pink tenants or products were permitted within the festival area, highlighting DWP’s strict security protocols at all entry points. He noted that security checks are conducted alongside the police as part of Ismaya Live’s commitment to supporting anti-drug programmes.
Brigadier General Eko Hadi Santoso of the National Police Criminal Investigation Agency’s Narcotics Crime Sub-directorate stated that the examination of DWP management is a follow-up to findings regarding the Whip Pink promotions. Previously, Police Commissioner Zulkarnain Harahap noted that the promotion, which offered free cylinders with certain purchases, had been circulating for several years and was linked to the DWP event held in Bali last year.
