Jakarta (ANTARA) - Djakarta Warehouse Project (DWP), one of Southeast Asia’s largest annual electronic dance music (EDM) festivals organised by Ismaya Live, has claimed that it did not promote the N2O brand ‘Whip Pink’.

Following an interrogation at the Narcotics Crime Directorate (Dittipidnarkoba) of the Indonesian National Police (Bareskrim) in Jakarta on Monday night, Ismaya Live Director David Ferdian stated that the organisers provided clarification to investigators that the Whip Pink promotions did not originate from DWP accounts.

“Regarding the Whip Pink promotion in 2023, we are clarifying that this is not related to DWP because we have no affiliation, sponsorship, or partnership with Whip Pink,” said David.

He explained that the Whip Pink promotions utilised the brand’s own accounts, and that the DWP logo appearing in ‘buy five, get one free’ advertisements was not the official DWP logo. However, he noted that Ismaya Live’s legal department has taken firm action by issuing a formal warning letter to the Whip Pink party in January 2026, demanding the removal of the promotional posts.

“We previously issued a warning letter to Whip Pink to take down their promotions, as this is entirely unrelated to our activities, especially DWP,” he added.

According to David, the unauthorised use of the DWP logo in 2023, coupled with recent news regarding the death of an influencer allegedly due to inhaling Whip Pink, has resulted in defamation against DWP. David emphasised that the organisers support the National Police’s investigation into the manufacturer of the Whip Pink gas and are prepared to provide further testimony if required, stating, “We support the police’s efforts to eradicate drugs.”

On Monday, 8 June 2026, investigators from the Narcotics Crime Sub-directorate conducted examinations of DWP management regarding the sales promotions of Whip Pink alongside the 2023 DWP event.

The Narcotics Crime Directorate has summoned five individuals as witnesses in the ongoing investigation into the manufacturer of the Whip Pink N2O gas, namely: RV (29, North Jakarta), AM (29, Tangerang), CD (29, Jakarta), APG (21, Makassar), and ZNM (20, Makassar).

In April 2026, the Narcotics Crime Directorate successfully uncovered a factory producing Whip Pink N2O gas in Jakarta. Interrogations of nine arrested witnesses revealed that the producer, PT SSS, lacks the necessary legality and BPOM (National Agency of Drug and Food Control) distribution permits for the production and sale of Whip Pink N2O gas. Furthermore, the owners of the production site and shipping warehouses are identified as AH, SC, and JH. The Whip Pink distribution network spans 10 cities with 16 warehouse locations, ranging from Jakarta and DI Yogyakarta to Lombok.

Whip Pink is a brand of small gas canisters containing nitrous oxide (N2O), commonly known as ‘laughing gas’.
