Dutch to continue aid program in RI
JAKARTA: The Netherlands government will extend its poverty alleviation program in Indonesia into 2004 following a successful project implemented last year, said a press statement issued on Tuesday.
Coordinating Minister for the Economy Dorodjatun Kuntjoro- Jakti and the Netherlands' Ambassador to Indonesia Ruud Treffers will sign an MoU on Thursday for the extension of the Program for Cooperation with Emerging Markets.
A project called "The Milk Provision Enhancement Program" implemented last year in the Lembang area of Bandung, West Java, was considered a success.
The project was aimed at enhancing the quantity and quality of cow's milk produced by some 3,200 farmers in the area.
The Netherlands' government financed 50 percent of the cost of the project. -- JP
