Dutch reunion in S. Sulawesi

UJUNGPANDANG, South Sulawesi (JP): Over 100 Dutch nationals
who at one time lived in the city of Makassar returned on Sunday
for a reunion as part of the "International Makassar Reunion 1995
to Ujungpandang".

During their stay, they attended a dinner hosted by Mayor
Malik B.Masry at his residence and were treated to a fashion show
of traditional attire.

As reported by Antara, many of them praised the developments
of the city, which some had not seen in several decades.

"I am extremely happy and touched at seeing the city's
development and will return again for the next reunion in 1997,"
said Ida Maud Van Swieten, the daughter of the former Makassar
Mayor of 1945-1947. (mds)
