Duta Pertiwi's profit soars

JAKARTA (JP): PT Duta Pertiwi, a property company listed on the Jakarta Stock Exchange (JSX), yesterday reported a 326 percent increase in its net profit to Rp 81 billion (US$37.67 million) in 1994 from Rp 19 billion in 1993.

According to the company's 1994 unaudited financial report, the company's before-tax profit rose 470 percent to Rp 120 billion from Rp 21 billion.

The increase in profits was partly the result of a significant rise in the operational incomes coming from the sales in several new shopping facilities, including the Mangga Dua Mall, Mangga Dua Shopping Arcade, Mangga Dua Court and ITC Roxymas & Roxymas Apartment, all in Jakarta, the company said.

The company is currently building a number of large apartments and shopping facilities, including the Fatmawati Mas, Cempaka Putih Mas, Ambassador Kuningan and Mangga Dua Center (hen).
