Duta Pertiwi dismisses residents' complaint
JAKARTA (JP): PT Duta Pertiwi, the developer of Mangga Dua Court Condominium, has denied reports that it has failed to build sports facilities for the residents.
Duta Pertiwi's Tipuk Satiotomo told The Jakarta Post yesterday in a written statement that the developer had built tennis courts, a swimming pool and a fitness center in 1993 when the condominium project was completed.
"The sport facilities were handed over to the residents on May 8 this year," Tipuk said, adding that the facilities have been used by residents.
The keys to the three facilities were accepted by Yulistia Fadjar of PT Colliers Jardine on behalf of the residents, Tipuk said.
Residents of the housing complex visited the Consumer Protection Foundation last week complaining that the developer's had not constructed sports facilities as agreed.
The residents also accused the developer of turning the multi- function room into a restaurant.
Tipuk said the residents' complaints were baseless.
"The provision of a multi-function room was not in the purchase agreement," she said. "We did not include it in our promotions," she added.
Duta Pertiwi has announced that it will build a restaurant within the complex, but this is not to be among the facilities which will be handed over to residents.
Company president Harijono Jonggowisastro is quoted in the statement as saying: "Everything is on a legal basis. It's not correct to accuse us of not providing the sport facilities for the residents." (05)
