The Head of the National Nutrition Agency (BGN), Sudaryono, shared a Free Nutritious Meal (MBG) with students of the Santo Arnoldus Catholic Elementary School (SDK St) Arnoldus Penfui in Kupang, East Nusa Tenggara. The moment occurred during Sudaryono’s working visit to Kupang on Wednesday (16/09/2026).

Sudaryono arrived alongside Governor Emanuel Melkiades Laka Lena. Their arrival was met with great enthusiasm by the students of SDK St Arnoldus Penfui.

Prior to the meal, Sudaryono interacted with the students through a Q&A session. The atmosphere was lively, with students who answered questions correctly receiving prizes.

The MBG menu served consisted of white rice, fried chicken, vegetables, and watermelon. Sudaryamos noted that the students appeared to enjoy the food provided.

“The food is delicious. There is fried chicken, vegetables, and watermelon. We are happy and full,” said Sudaryono.

Sudaryono stated that his visit was conducted to directly observe the implementation of the MBG programme and to hear the responses from the students.

“The most important thing is that children receive food that is nutritious, safe, and enjoyable. We want to ensure that the benefits of this programme are truly felt by the children,” Sudaryono explained.

According to Sudaryono, the direct involvement of children is essential for the MBG programme to run optimally. Therefore, food quality and nutritional fulfillment must be a shared priority.

“We want children to grow up healthy, learn well, and have the energy to be active. For that reason, food quality and nutritional fulfillment must be a collective concern,” he added.

One of the students at SDK St Arnoldus, Rachel, also expressed her happiness and satisfaction after eating the MBG menu.

“I am full. There was white rice, fried chicken, vegetables, and watermelon,” said Rachel.
