Jakarta (ANTARA) - PT Pelayaran Nasional Indonesia or PT Pelni (Persero) has served 316,000 passengers during this year’s homecoming flow.

“During the homecoming period from 6 to 22 March 2026, we have served a total of 316,602 passengers,” said Pelni’s Corporate Secretary Ditto Pappilanda in Jakarta on Monday.

He stated that this figure reached 100.5 percent compared to the passenger realisation in the same period last year, which was 315,128 passengers.

He mentioned that the peak of the homecoming flow occurred on 18 March 2026 or H-3 Lebaran with a realisation of 31,255 passengers.

According to him, during the homecoming flow, the busiest departure port was recorded in Balikpapan, while the busiest arrival port was in Surabaya.

“As for the shipping routes, the Batam-Belawan route became one of the most sought after by homecomers,” he said.

Previously, a resident of Senen, Central Jakarta, Khaidir, experienced the benefits of the government’s 30 percent ticket discount programme for this year’s Lebaran transportation services.

“There was no money because the economy is not yet good but we still want to go home, we took advantage of this programme,” he said at the Tanjung Priok Passenger Terminal.

He stated that usually the Pelni ship ticket from Tanjung Priok to Ambon costs Rp892,000 and on Wednesday he only bought it for Rp590,000.

“We are greatly helped by this discount,” he said.
