Duri Station Goes Dark Due to Power Outage, KCI Ensures Services Continue
JAKARTA - PT Kereta Commuter Indonesia (KCI) has assured that electric rail train (KRL) or Commuter Line services at Duri Station, Tambora, West Jakarta, continued normally despite a power outage on Thursday (9/4/2026) night. KAI Commuter Public Relations Manager, Leza Arlan, stated that the outage, which began at 6:10 PM WIB, did not impact train operations. “Commuter Line Tangerang and Commuter Line Cikarang services at Duri Station remain normal for passenger boarding and alighting,” Leza said in an official statement on Thursday. Leza explained that the interruption in electricity supply from PLN caused lighting in the Duri Station area and surroundings to go out. “Several passenger service facilities continue to operate normally using the station’s genset power supply,” Leza added. Furthermore, ticket sales facilities and electronic gate operations for passenger tap-in and tap-out also ran normally. After more than an hour of outage, electricity in the station area was finally restored. “At 7:40 PM WIB, the electricity supply from PLN returned to normal, and lighting at Duri Station along with other passenger service facilities resumed operations,” Leza explained. Leza also advised all users at Duri Station not to panic if encountering similar issues, such as power and lighting outages in the station area. “Always prioritise safety and follow directions from station staff,” Leza concluded.
