Dunhill League competition
Dunhill League competition
From Merdeka
It is interesting to follow reports on the preparations of the
football teams which are eager to participate in Dunhill League
Tournament. But why is it called "Dunhill League" instead of
"Indonesian League?"
OK, that's none of my business. It is the business of the
sponsor and the All Indonesia Football Association. Bravo
Dunhill. And I thank the association for its readiness to open
its door to foreign players. I hope my favorite player Fandi
Achmad will want to return to Indonesia to join one of the
Galatama clubs.
Dunhill League must ensure that fair play is persistently
honored. Foul play will damage the image of the tournament.
Referees must be impartial. Professionalism must be reflected in
the Dunhill League Competition that the achievement and prestige
of the athletes could be correctly assessed. Brutal and unruly
players must be kicked out. By maintaining fairness and
sportsmanship, I hope Indonesian football will regain popularity.
