BRUSSELS (Reuter): The European Commission said yesterday it
would recommend to European Union ministers that definitive anti-
dumping duties be imposed, albeit at a reduced rate, on imports
of grey cotton fabrics from Indonesia and five other countries.

It said in a statement duties should be cut from the
provisional rate of 19 percent to an average of 15 percent on
imports from India, Indonesia, Pakistan, Turkey, China and Egypt.

"The European Commission is proposing that the Council should
impose definitive anti-dumping measures on imports of grey fabric
cotton into the EU, though at a lower rate," the statement said.
