Dulir Village to Receive Electricity This Month, Lembata Achieves 100% Electrification Ratio
PT PLN (Persero) Unit Layanan Pelanggan (ULP) Lembata is targeting Dulir Village, Atadei District, as the last area in Lembata Regency to receive electricity services this June. The arrival of electricity in this village will simultaneously mark the achievement of a 100% village electrification ratio across the entire regency.
PLN ULP Lembata Manager Thariq A. Gumilang revealed that the construction of electricity infrastructure to Dulir Village has been fully completed. The technical team is currently conducting the final stages before official operation. "We have finished installing the network. Currently, a commissioning test or network feasibility test is being carried out. If the test results meet the standards, electricity can be turned on in Dulir this month," Thariq said when met at his office on Friday (12/6/2026).
The electrification project in Dulir Village involved massive infrastructure development. Thariq explained that although the work contract began in December 2025, the project faced delays in material distribution. Limited sea transport capacity was the main challenge in delivering electricity poles. "Transporting the poles used ferries. Because the cargo volume was limited, delivery was carried out in stages. Out of a total of 150 poles needed, a single shipment could only carry a maximum of around 40 poles," he clarified. In addition to logistics, difficult geographical conditions and road access were also challenges, but full support from the local community helped accelerate the completion of the work.
To date, around 30 new connection applications have been recorded from residents of Dulir Village. To speed up the connection process, PLN has prepared 50 meter units at the nearest guard office.
With the flow of electricity entering Dulir Village, PLN records a new history in Lembata Regency by achieving a 100% village electrification ratio. However, PLN still has work to do to reach hamlets that are not yet electrified. "Currently, there is one remaining hamlet, Dusun Lamanunang, which has not been reached by the network. We have proposed that this hamlet receive services in the next phase gradually," Thariq added.
In addition to focusing on network expansion, PLN ULP Lembata is also continuously increasing the electrification ratio by serving requests for power upgrades and new connections up to 7,700 VA. The public is encouraged to use the PLN Mobile application to facilitate access to services such as purchasing electricity tokens, reporting disruptions, and independently applying for new connections.
