The DKI Jakarta Provincial Government is scheduled to begin construction of the pedestrian deck, popularly called the Donut Bridge, in the Dukuh Atas area on 21 June 2026. This circular pedestrian infrastructure project is designed to facilitate intermodal transport integration in the heart of the capital.

DKI Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung is scheduled to directly lead the groundbreaking process for the project, which is located above the Jalan Jenderal Sudirman intersection. This momentum is also part of the series of events commemorating Jakarta’s 499th anniversary.

‘Besides Rasuna Said, later on the same day we will also conduct the groundbreaking for the Dukuh Atas pedestrian deck on the 21st,’ said Pramono Anung in the Kebayoran Baru area on Thursday (18/6).

Pramono explained that the presence of the Donut Bridge is expected to improve public mobility efficiency. This facility will connect various public transport service points in the Dukuh Atas area, allowing pedestrians to switch modes more safely and comfortably.

In addition to starting construction of the iconic bridge, the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government has also prepared other major agendas on the same day. These agendas include the inauguration of the rearrangement of the Jalan Rasuna Said area, which now appears with a new look.

Not only focusing on physical infrastructure, the DKI Provincial Government will also hold a Waste Sorting Movement assembly as part of its commitment to environmental sustainability. This step refers to Governor’s Instruction (Ingub) Number 5 of 2022.

‘At the same time on the 21st, we will also hold an assembly event for waste sorting. In accordance with Ingub Number 5 of 2022, waste sorting has become a primary need for Jakarta,’ Pramono asserted.

The Donut Bridge project is predicted to become a new icon for Jakarta as well as a solution for pedestrian flow congestion in Indonesia’s busiest transit area.
