PT Kereta Api Indonesia (KAI) Operational Area (Daop) 1 Jakarta has designated an additional stop at Jatinegara Station for all long-distance train journeys to and from Gambir Station. This policy took effect at 1:00 PM Western Indonesia Time (WIB).

The measure was taken to maintain service smoothness amid potential traffic congestion heading to Gambir Station due to a public demonstration centred in the Bundaran HI area of Jakarta. The activity is expected to increase vehicle volume on several major roads in Jakarta, particularly access routes to Gambir Station.

KAI Daop 1 Jakarta Public Relations Manager, Franoto Wibowo, stated that the additional stop aims to provide flexibility and convenience for customers. “The additional stop at Jatinegara Station is a form of service enhancement for customers so they can still travel comfortably, safely, and on time, despite potential traffic congestion due to the expression of opinion activity,” Franoto said on Friday (12/6/2026).

He emphasised that this adjustment does not alter the train departure schedules from the initial stations. KAI has also conducted outreach to customers through various communication channels, including SMS and WhatsApp broadcasts. “Train schedules remain as stated on the tickets. We urge customers to pay attention to departure times, arrive at the station early, and adjust their travel plans to the station according to traffic conditions,” he added.

Customers experiencing access difficulties to Gambir Station can utilise Jatinegara Station as an alternative departure point without any changes to their travel schedules.
