Dudung: Torture of YTR in Bandung Beyond the Limits of Humanity

The Chief of Staff to the Presidency, General (Ret.) TNI Dudung Abdurachman, stated that President Prabowo Subianto is paying close attention to the case of confinement and violence suffered by YTR in Bandung Regency. He requested that the handling of this case must be carried out in accordance with the applicable law.

“His message is that it must be processed according to the prevailing law, and he is very concerned about this incident,” said Dudung after visiting the victim at Hasan Sadikin Hospital (RSHS) Bandung on Thursday.

Dudung assessed that the actions taken by the suspect, Taufik Hidayat, have exceeded the bounds of humanity. According to him, the victim’s current condition demonstrates the severity of the suffering endured during the period of confinement.

“Personally, I must say that seeing the condition just now, this has gone beyond the limits of humanity, and therefore deserves the heaviest possible punishment,” he remarked.

Furthermore, Dudung urged the public to be more attentive to their surroundings and to immediately report any suspicious activities to the authorities to prevent similar incidents from recurring.
