Dudung Summoned by Prabowo, Ready to Provide Input on National and Global Issues

Jakarta (ANTARA) - Special Presidential Advisor on National Defence, retired TNI General Dudung Abdurachman, was summoned by President Prabowo Subianto to the Presidential Palace in Jakarta on Tuesday, and he is ready to provide input on national and international issues, including geopolitics.

“As the President’s advisor, there are likely matters on which he seeks advice and input. He usually likes to ask for suggestions and input from us as advisors,” Dudung said shortly after arriving at the Presidential Palace complex in Jakarta on Tuesday afternoon.

“(Issues) national and international,” he stated.

Dudung revealed that the summons was conveyed through the President’s Aide on Monday (20/4) evening, with the meeting scheduled for Tuesday (21/4) at 15:00 WIB.

He stated that he has prepared several points to present to President Prabowo, although he did not detail the content of the input before the meeting took place.

According to him, the issues to be discussed encompass national and international scopes, including developments in Middle East geopolitics.

Dudung added that, to his knowledge, he is the only advisor scheduled to meet with President Prabowo on this occasion, and there is no information regarding the presence of other ministers in the meeting.

“As far as I know, the advisor is just me,” said the former Army Chief of Staff (KSAD) for the 2021-2023 period.

On that occasion, Dudung was also asked by journalists about Prabowo’s views on the signing of the Major Defense Cooperation Partnership (MDCP) agreement between Defence Minister Sjafrie Sjamsoeddin and US Defence Secretary Pete Hegseth at the Pentagon in Washington D.C. on Monday (13/4).

He said he would ask the Head of State directly about it.

“That’s been quite a while ago, and it seems our cooperation with America will continue. But as for the principles, I think he knows better. I will also ask him,” Dudung stated.
