Dudung says Prabowo orders confinement case to be processed according to law

Bandung — The Chief of Staff to the Presidency, General (Ret.) TNI Dudung Abdurachman, stated that President Prabowo Subianto is paying close attention to the case of confinement and violence involving YTR in Bandung Regency, requesting that the handling of the matter be conducted in accordance with applicable laws.

“His message is that it must be processed according to the prevailing law, and he is very concerned about this incident,” said Dudung after visiting the victim at Hasan Sadikin Hospital (RSHS) Bandung on Thursday.

Dudung assessed that the actions taken by the suspect, Taufik Hidayat, have exceeded the bounds of humanity. According to him, the victim’s current condition demonstrates the severity of the suffering endured during the period of confinement.

“Personally, I must say that seeing the condition just now, this has gone beyond the limits of humanity, and therefore deserves the heaviest possible punishment,” he remarked.

Furthermore, Dudung urged the public to be more attentive to their surroundings and to immediately report any suspicious activities to the authorities to prevent similar incidents from recurring.

“If you see anything suspicious or unusual, report it immediately to the relevant authorities so that incidents beyond supervision do not occur,” he said.

Previously, Taufik Hidayat was named a suspect in the case of confinement and physical abuse against YTR, which allegedly lasted for approximately three years in a boarding house in the Cileunyi area, Bandung Regency. As a result of the incident, the victim suffered several severe injuries affecting their physical condition, including impaired vision, difficulty speaking, and the inability to walk normally.
