Dudung Reveals Prabowo's Special Message on YTR False Imprisonment Case in Bandung

Presidential Chief of Staff General TNI (Ret.) Dudung Abdurachman revealed that President Prabowo Subianto is paying close attention to the case of false imprisonment and torture suffered by YTR in Bandung Regency. He stated that the head of state has also requested that the handling be carried out in accordance with the applicable law. Dudung disclosed this after visiting the victim at Hasan Sadikin Hospital (RSHS) Bandung on Thursday, 25 June 2026. “His message was to process it according to the applicable law, and he cares deeply about this incident,” he said, quoted on Friday, 26 June 2026. He stressed that the actions taken by the suspect, Taufik Hidayat, had exceeded the limits of humanity. Dudung said the victim’s current condition demonstrates the severity of the suffering endured during the period of captivity. “Personally, frankly, seeing her condition earlier, this is beyond the limits of humanity, so he deserves the heaviest possible punishment,” he said. In addition, Dudung urged the public to be more aware of their surroundings and to immediately report any suspicious matters to the authorities to prevent similar incidents from recurring. “If you see something suspicious or odd, immediately report it to the relevant authorities so that things do not happen outside of supervision,” he said. The victim, identified as YTR (29), was found in a concerning condition with a number of severe injuries suspected to be the result of prolonged violence. The news of the arrest was confirmed by the Head of Public Relations of the West Java Regional Police, Senior Commissioner Hendra Rochmawan. “Just confirming that he has been arrested. That’s all,” he said on Tuesday, 23 June 2026. It is known that a woman from Rancaekek, Bandung Regency, West Java, is suspected to be a victim of false imprisonment and abuse by her boyfriend. The woman with the initials YTR was allegedly held captive by the perpetrator, Taufik Hidayat, in a boarding room and was reported missing by her family for three years.
