Dudung Purchases Istana Negara Painting by SRMP 16 Malang Student

Malang, East Java (ANTARA) - Presidential Chief of Staff (KSP) General (Ret.) Dudung Abdurachman has purchased a painting of the Istana Negara (State Palace) created by a student of Sekolah Rakyat Menengah Pertama (SRMP) 16 in Malang City, East Java, named Khilyatul Mila.

During his visit to SRMP 16 Kota Malang on Friday, Dudung said that Khilyatul Mila’s artwork was not just a painting but reflected the fighting spirit of a child of the nation.

“The painting is good, it depicts the Istana Negara and the red and white flag, meaning this child already has a spirit of struggle and sacrifice. I bought it for Rp1 million,” said Dudung.

Dudung stated that he plans to hang the painting at his home or possibly in his office. He even intends to show the painting of the Istana Negara to President Prabowo Subianto.

“Later, when the President comes to the office, I will show him this painting from a child at Sekolah Rakyat,” he said.

Khilyatul Mila demonstrated her painting skills during the KSP’s visit to the school. The Year 7 student at SRMP 16 Kota Malang was seen painting in the school lobby, prompting Dudung to approach her and ask about her artwork.

The KSP carefully and attentively observed the painting process, accompanied by local officials from the Malang City Government, as well as the headmaster and teachers of SRMP 16.

Meanwhile, Khilyatul Mila expressed her happiness after her painting was purchased by Dudung. She said the money she earned would be given to her parents to buy household necessities.

“I will give the money to my parents so it can be used to buy necessities,” she said.

Painting has been her passion and a regular activity since childhood. She continues to pursue it while studying at SRMP 16. She also expressed happiness at having the opportunity to study through the Sekolah Rakyat programme.

“Because the facilities are complete, I feel comfortable here. As for my aspirations, I want to become a teacher,” she said.
