“Indeed, in my view, it is not up to standard, and it was directly addressed by the head of BGN, leading to its suspension, as I observed,” said Dudung in his statement on Thursday (14/5/2026).

This enforcement action aligns with the directive from President Prabowo Subianto, who aims for children receiving the MBG programme to truly obtain clean, healthy, and nutritious food. Dudung expressed his commitment to continue inspections in various other regions, following reports of non-compliance with standards in several areas.

“Well, this is what I raided, and I will check several regions. I have heard that in Central Java and West Java, there are issues with the processes from site selection to food preparation, delivery, and so on. These do not comply with standards,” he revealed.

Despite numerous challenges, he appreciated the maximal efforts of BGN to improve and address various discrepancies occurring in the field. Dudung issued a stern warning to foundations and investors managing SPPG not to treat this programme merely as a business opportunity without regard for nutritional quality standards.

“I have already communicated with Mr Dadan to anticipate this with foundations and investors of all kinds who seek to gain profits; this must be properly guarded against,” he stated.

Dudung hopes that MBG providers will prioritise the safety and future of the nation’s next generation. “Yes, I conveyed to the foundations establishing MBG and so on, please think about advancing the nation; these are our children, it’s pitiful. It’s not as simple as people thinking, as long as they can profit from that money,” he added.

This strict oversight is also focused on preventing negative incidents that endanger children’s health, such as food poisoning cases. KSP, together with BGN, will continue to synergise in taking action.

“These matters I will handle continuously, of course, together with BGN to maintain and address things that are indeed inadequate,” Dudung concluded.

The raid was conducted on Tuesday morning (12/5/2026). During the raid, Dudung found several conditions deemed non-compliant with standards, including a dirty kitchen area, presence of maggots, unhealthy pallets, inadequate washing facilities, hot kitchen rooms, as well as mixed dry kitchen areas, wet storage, and dry warehouses.
