Dudung Denies Managing MBG Kitchens: Public Awaits Disclosure of Names from Sony Sonjaya
Jakarta, VIVA – Allegations of corruption in the management of the Free Nutritious Meal (MBG) programme continue to draw public scrutiny. Amidst developing information regarding parties allegedly involved in the matter, the Chief of Staff to the Presidency (KSP), Dudung Abdurachman, has denied allegations linking him to the ownership of Nutrition Fulfilment Service Units (SPPG) or MBG kitchens.
Dudung explained that his involvement has been limited to helping bridge communication between pesantren (Islamic boarding school) administrators and the National Nutrition Agency (BGN) to ensure that students could benefit from the MBG programme.
According to Dudung, approximately six to seven months ago, several pesantren administrators approached him expressing their desire for their institutions to be targets of the MBG programme. Some of these pesantren have student populations reaching thousands, making them viable locations for MBG kitchen service points.
“Because in those pesantren, there are four thousand or five thousand students, so they could be designated as kitchen service points,” said Dudung, as quoted on Thursday, 11 June 2026.
He stated that the pesantren administrators subsequently requested that he introduce them to Dadan Hindayana, who was serving as the Head of the BGN at the time. After the introductions were made, Dudung claimed he no longer followed the progress of the communications or the subsequent implementation of the programme.
“Ultimately, I told Mr Dadan, ‘Please, you can contact Mr Arif Nurahman, my staff.’ So, they proceeded to communicate. Once they were in contact, I was no longer involved in the details,” he said.
Dudung also revealed that, to date, the construction of the SPPG kitchens in question has not been realised.
“As it turns out, until now the process is not yet complete; the kitchens have not even been built. I have asked Abah Junaidi and others,” he added.
